SAS AFRICA

This is a fabulous SAS poster from the 1960's featuring beautiful artwork by Danish painter, Otto Nielsen. Nielsen created a series of Posters I Illustrations for S.A.S. the Scandanavian Airlines System spanning the 1940s to the early 1970s. This poster served as an ad for travels to South Africa and it depicts a group of running ostriches as there are many ostrich farms in South Africa. You'll see a a consistent theme of portraying the animals as the destination in much of his work. He really appreciated the majestic creatures and their importance, but for commercial purposes, but also as an hommage to their beauty in untouched nature.
